Fighting the Tide of Crisis

As economies fall and the US battles a gloomy economic climate, it is even more important that we stand strong and resilient.

I for one am very thankful that I am still employed and not on the dole. I am happy to have my family and friends with me. Even if my job is not the most satisfying in the world and I have to overcome the challenges each day in my thankless work, I am still very glad.

We can look on life as a struggle or as a challenge. Being content and appreciative of the small blessings of life will help one pull through the tough times.

Remember, bad times will not deflate a person. Only if you are deflated internally are you truly down and out!

The Nothingness of Wealth

How often do we downplay the role of our loved ones? In this harsh economic climate, where basic survival needs are called into question, kinship becomes even more important.

Some people have gone from millionaires to paupers in a night. Others have been left with mounting debts. But the worst consequence has been the lack of support from family and friends in this time of need. Many of these people have spent their lives chasing the dollar, only to lose their loved ones in the process. And when the dollar goes flat, they have nothing. Nothing left. They are even poorer than the beggars on the streets who have families to go back to.

So why spend your lives chasing nothingness?

When You Lose The Treasure, It is Gone!

There was once a young man born to a rich family who took everyone around him for granted. He always felt that there would be enough time for him to convey his appreciation for them. But one day, he was knocked down by a van and paralyzed from neck to toe.

He had also lost his sense of speech. His family and loved ones stood by him, rallying him to get well soon. He was so touched and grateful but just as he started to convey his thanks, no words came from his mouth. He would never ever be able to talk again. Now the words 'I love you' became so important to him but they were words which he had wished he had articulated much earlier.

Are we like the young man who took his loved ones for granted? We may never get another chance to show our gratitude.

So what is the moral of the story? Treasure your loved ones and don't always say there will be time to do that- you never know when your time will run out so start to spread that love NOW!

The last few months have been hectic to say the least. I've changed a job, moved house and now gotten sucked into this financial crisis.

Hope this straighten themselves out over the next few weeks. Pray for me.
